$2 Million in Grants Awarded to Houston Artists

The BIPOC Arts Network and Fund (BANF) distributed a total of $2 million to organizations, and collectives in the greater Houston area, including Alief Art House, TEATRX, and Jazz Houston. The BANF was founded in response to the economic devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the initiative was announced last fall. Funding was made possible through a number of sources including the Houston Endowment, Ford and Kinder Foundations.
