Twelve artists’ proposals have been shortlisted for the third and fourth High Line Plinth commissions. Models of the shortlisted artworks will be exhibited on the High Line in January 2021 before the winners are exhibited in 2022 and 2024.
Chosen from some 80 longlisted proposals, the shortlisted artists come from Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Mexico, Romania, South Africa, Switzerland, and Turkey, as well as the United States. They are: Iván Argote, Nina Beier, Margarita Cabrera, Nick Cave, Banu Cennetoğlu, Rafa Esparza, Teresita Fernández, Kapwani Kiwanga, Lu Pingyuan, Pamela Rosenkranz, Mary Sibande, and Andra Ursuţa.

The inaugural Plinth commission, Simone Leigh‘s Brick House, is on view until spring 2021. The second commission has not yet been announced. Each Plinth commission remains on view for 18 months.
