Join the Jacksonville Second Saturday Art Walk, where galleries, restaurants and studios will show new exhibits, host art demonstrations and more from 3 to 6 p.m. the second Saturday of every month through October. American Trails: The gallery, located in the Columbia Hotel, 250 E. Main St., Ashland, features art and crafts of the indigenous peoples in North and South America. Art du Jour Gallery: See oil portraits by Belinda Moffit, and photography work by Judy LaNier, the gallery’s August featured artists. Art & Soul Gallery: See the August featured exhibit, “Adornment” by Eric Peterson, on display Aug. 3-29. His work includes abstraction and collage and seeks to celebrate our multi-cultural world. Art Presence Art Center: Artwork by local artist Denise Kester will be featured through Sept. 12 in the exhibit “Art Dreams.” Kester specializes in monoprint and monotype, viscosity printing as well as drawing and painting. An artist’s reception will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 , as part of Jacksonville’s Second Saturday Art Walk. The gallery is located at 206 N. Ashland Art Works: See the work of local artists in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts and garden art. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Main Gallery will showcase printmaking works from the permanent collection of Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts, on exhibit Friday, Aug. 13, through Sept. 24. The collection includes work by luminaries of contemporary Native American art. The Community gallery will feature the work of Rogue Gallery artists inspired by Pattern and Decoration, a United States art movement of the mid-1970s and early ’80s, through Aug. 13. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art has reopened for in-person viewing. See the new exhibition “Joan Truckenbrod: Digital Fibers — 1975 To Present” on view through Sept. 16. Truckenbrod is credited as being one of the earliest pioneers of digital art in the 1960s. Masterworks on Loan and “What is Plein Air?” also will be on display in the Entry Gallery. The gallery, located at 555 Indiana St. Ashland, will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. Summer Blues Revue: The Rogue Blues Society has postponed their annual Summer Blues Revue due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases, smoky conditions and extreme high temperatures. Plans are being developed for smaller events and a large event in late spring 2022. Monthly jams will resume in October of this year. ‘Scandals of Southern Oregon’: The local history lecture to be given by Ashland author and historian Sue DeMarinis, “Scandals of Southern Oregon,” at the Jacksonville Community Center on Friday, Aug. 13, has been postponed. The community center and DeMarinis hope to reschedule sometime in October.

Royal Affair Storytime: Local fairy tale character group Once Upon a Song has postponed its children’s “royal” storytime, previously held at Barnes and Noble, until further notice because of COVID-19 concerns.
