The public is invited to experience the art of wildlife in a variety of shapes, sizes and species in Wild About Nature, Lake Metroparks’ 2021 fall art show at Penitentiary Glen Reservation.
This multimedia show features works by local artists, from paintings to jewelry to digital art, watercolor and more. The show will be on display 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 28 through Oct. 10 in the Nature Center at Penitentiary Glen Reservation, 8668 Kirtland-Chardon Road in Kirtland.
Admission is free, and select artwork is available for purchase, according to a news release.
A free opening reception will take place Aug. 28 from noon to 4 p.m. Attendees can meet and talk with the artists, watch demonstrations and enjoy a visit from animals from the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center.
There are also other activity options at Penitentiary Glen Reservation. Visitors can hike more than eight miles of scenic trails, interact with nature in Nature Play, discover the butterfly gardens or enjoy a leisurely picnic.
There also is a children’s outdoor wild play space, and visitors also can discover the Life Cycles Secrets of wildlife found in fields, wetlands and forests in the new interactive exhibit found in the Nature Center.
The Nature Center and Wildlife Yard are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
