MEMBERS of Creative Coverage will be exhibiting their work in a show at Ilminster Arts Centre in Somerset from April 19 to May 14.

On show will be a mix of paintings, ceramics, glass and sculpture from artists far and wide.

“We are very excited about this exhibition,” said Creative Coverage co-founder Tim Saunders.

“We last held a Creative Coverage exhibition at Ilminster Arts Centre two years ago and it is pleasing that there is an appetite among our members to exhibit once again.

“It promises to be another excellent exhibition.”

Some key exhibitors include James Lester SWAc, Susan Purser Hope, Patricia Haskey, Joanna Commings, Andrew Forkner, Pearl Gatehouse, Miranda Pender and Nigel Moores.

James Lester established a successful career in London as art director in advertising and publishing, when he worked on many national advertising campaigns and magazines.

Throughout this time his paintings were exhibited in many of the London exhibitions, including the RA and the RBA.

He is an academician of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.

Patricia Haskey’s work is inspired by the ambience of place; at home or abroad – meandering along country lanes or round towns.

“Whatever, the subject, I am always experimenting with materials – with oils, watercolours and pastel, pen and wash, collage, and handmade printing.”

Andrew Forkner said about his work: “As an artist I am constantly searching for inspiration, for something that sparks the urge to produce my own representation of what I have seen.

“Over the years I have been fortunate to have had work displayed at the Mall Galleries, Christies, Sotheby’s and Art in Action.”

Susan Purser Hope will also be on show, she is the elected chair of the Contemporary Glass Society.

In 2013 she moved to North Norfolk, fulfilling a lifetime’s ambition to live by the sea and in 2021 she relocated to Brixham, Devon.

Her work features fused and painted forms that hold secrets and stories, creating explosions of potent, dynamic colour and shapes in a three-dimensional format.
