Visual Artists Talk About Copyright is part of a series of 7 short video interviews created for the Copyright User Portal.
The videos explore how different creators make use of copyright relative to their chosen mediums. For each medium, we produced a video interviewing real creators about their artistic process, thoughts and concerns about copyright. The video concludes by asking the interviewees what questions they have about copyright, which are then answered through our online resource (http://copyrightuser.org) with the help of leading copyright academics.
In this video we ask visual artists:
• What motivates you to create?
• What does copyright mean to you?
• Do you use other people’s work?
• How do you feel about others using your work?
• Where is the line between inspiration and copying?
• What questions do you have about copying?
