Thank you to our readers and to ARTFIXdaily’s contributors and advertising supporters for providing inspiring art news and information during the peaks and valleys of 2021.
The peaks included a first half of 2021 with art auction sales soaring to $7.8 billion, according to reports, representing an increase of 12 percent over 2019, before the pandemic hit. Fall 2021 saw Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Phillips total a record $2.65 billion in art sales during the two-week period of auctions in November, in addition to the return of in-person art events, the emergence of crypto-wealthy collectors, and a booming new market for NFTs.
